ANTENATAL CLINIC Monday 2.00 p.m. –3.30 p.m.
The antenatal clinic is held weekly, where the doctor and midwife are always in attendance.
CHILD HEALTH SURVEILLANCE/WELL BABY CLINIC Tuesday 1.00 p.m.- 3.30 p.m.
The doctor provides child health surveillances services, where children under the age of five years of age are invited to attend the clinic for regular developmental assessment and to keep up to date with all their immunisations and vaccinations which are an essential part of their pre-school health care.
CERVICAL SMEAR CLINIC Thursday 2.00 p.m. – 5.30 p.m.
A smear test is a simple, painless procedure which takes only a few minutes. It is advised that all women under the age of 50 have a smear test three yearly, and five yearly thereafter. An appointment can be made for you to attend our smear clinic which is run by our trained nurses. If this is inconvenient, please ask the receptionist for an alternative appointment.
BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS
Monday 2.00pm-4.00pm Wednesday 8.30 a.m. – 12.00 noon Thursday 8.30 - 12.00 noon
Friday 4.00 p.m. – 5.30 p.m.
ASTHMA CLINIC
Monday 4.30 p.m. 5.30 p.m.
Thursday 8.40 a.m. – 12.00 noon
The clinic is held weekly to monitor treatment and to help patients gain a better understanding of their condition. If you are taking regular medication for asthma, please ask for an appointment at the Asthma Clinic.
DIABETIC CLINIC
Tuesday 8.40 a.m. – 12 noon
Friday 2.00 p.m. – 3.40 p.m.
The nurse will be available at this clinic, to give our diabetic patients the best possible care. If you are diabetic and have not yet attended the clinic, please ask at the reception desk for details.
CORONARY HEART DISEASE CLINIC
Monday 8.40 a.m. – 12.00 noon
Tuesday 8.40 a.m. – 12.00 noon
Thursday 2.00 p.m. – 3.40 p.m.
If you have had a heart attack, coronary artery bypass graft or suffer from angina, then you should have at least one check up annually. Please ask the receptionist for an appointment at one of our clinics.
SERVICES FOR THE ELDERLY
All our patients aged 75 and over are offered an annual check up by our practice nurse to review their health and ensure they are receiving all necessary services available.
FOR THE DISABLED
All consulting and treatment rooms are on ground level and corridors and doors are wide enough for wheelchairs. Please ask the receptionist for extra assistance if required. Patients who have hearing problems can to speak away from the reception area. If you have sight problems please do not hesitate to ask for assistance if necessary. It would be helpful if you could let the doctor or receptionist know if you are a carer.
SEXUAL HEALTH SERVICES
We also offer a Sexual Health Clinic, which covers screening for sexually transmitted diseases, such as Chlamydia. As part of this service we offer contraception and emergency contraception. The clinics take place on Wednesday evening 5.00 - 7.30 p.m. and Saturday mornings 10.00 - 12.00 a.m. This service is open to EVERYONE and not just our patients. PRIVATE SEXUAL HEALTH SERVICE/PRIVATE G.U.M. SERVICE AVAILABLE
Screening for sexually transmitted diseases including, Chlamydia, HIV, Gonorrhoea, Syphillis, and Hepatitis B. Contact 07974490068.
CONTRACEPTIVE SERVICES
The doctors provide a full contraceptive service, including the fitting of coils and caps, and offer advice on any contraceptive matter. Please ask for an appointment.
MINOR SURGERY
Dr Sutton performs a range of minor operations at the surgery (such as removing warts, injecting joints, excisions, etc). If you need a minor operation we can usually arrange to do this within two weeks. For the initial consultation please make an appointment with Dr Sutton to discuss it.
COUNSELLOR
There is a practice based counsellor. Please make an appointment with the doctor for initial consultation and referral.
TRAVEL VACCINES/IMMUNISATIONS
Travel vaccinations are available for our patients. Please give plenty of notice to ensure proper coverage before your journey. A travel vaccination form must be completed and sent in prior to your appointment.
